As the UK lockdown starts to ease, we are happy to confirm we will be offering limited face to face physiotherapy sessions as of the 6th of July. We can not express how thankful we are for those who stuck with us through the lockdown with our extremely successful virtual sessions.
Below we have detailed the new processes that have been put in place to protect our clients, as well as us.
All initial assessments for the foreseeable future will be completed virtually via our telehealth system. This allows us to complete the relevant COVID-19 screening tools, risk assessments, and clinical assessments with no risk of infection. From here a decision will be made regarding face to face input. If face to face input is indicated, then the following stipulations apply:
Booking a physiotherapy session:
To book a session online, click the link as normal. As per the information below regarding all initial assessments being virtual, only virtual physiotherapy sessions can be booked online.
Our reception staff have been advised to only book online sessions as per the guidelines, and that for more information to contact us via email.
All face to face sessions will be scheduled by the physiotherapist.
On arrival at clinic:
It is advised to attend ONLY at the specified treatment time. Clients attending early have to wait in their car until they are called in.
Clients are asked not to bring anyone with them to their appointment unless they are under 18 years old or require a chaperone/translator.
Before entering the clinic, temperature will be taken via a contactless thermometer. The temperature must be less than 37.5°C to be authorised entry.
On entering the clinic, you will required to sanitise your hands with alcohol gel
Following hand cleaning you will be required to put on a face mask/covering. These must be provided by the client.
You will be asked the COVID 19 screening questions that were asked during the online assessment again. Providing these questions have been passed, treatment will proceed.
On exiting the treatment room:
You will be required to remove the face mask and place in bin provided.
You will be required to clean your hands with alcohol gel.
What we are doing to minimise the risk of infection:
A 30 minute gap will be left between clients to ensure no client crossover.
All contact surfaces including, the desk, door handles, treatment couch, seating, reflex hammer etc. will be cleaned with Clinell wipes and/or disinfectant spray and disposable paper towel. This will include the toilet facilities if they have been used by a client.
The physiotherapist will wash their hands as per Public Health England guidelines before and after each client.
Where possible, windows and doors will be opened to increase ventilation.
Are there any changes to the appointments?
Physiotherapy will not be the same as it was before the lockdown period. Physical contact will be kept to a minimum.
As we are having to now invest highly in PPE, as well as sacrifice 50% of our previous clinical diary for cleaning, we have temporarily increased our prices from £60 to £65 for an initial assessment, and £40 to £45. These may vary dependent on how the situation progresses.
If you have any questions regarding these, please do send us an email. We hope that you understand and stay patient with us during these tough times. It may seem like it's a bit over the top, but it is to ensure the safety of everyone while on our premises.
We look forward to seeing you again all soon!
